The Christmas program was held this last Sunday, December 12th, and it was a beautiful success. The children did a wonderful job, receiving lots of compliments on their singing especially. They worked hard to memorize nine songs - and sounded spectacular! Thanks so much to Sue Simons for accompanying us in our efforts.
Also, I'd like to send out a thank you to Katharine Keller, as she is a great help to the Preschool classroom, yet she was overlooked in the program. This year's program was entitled Christmas: FAQ. As our narrator attempted to tell the Christmas story he was repeatedly interrupted by our students with questions about the story he was telling. As he grew increasingly frustrated with these interruptions and frazzled because he did not necessarily have the answers; he need not have worried because in our classroom we had some pretty impressive "Answer Kids" who took care of business. Additionally we had a marvelous crew of Biblical characters who helped bring the Christmas story to life. In addition to those cast members, our Preschool kiddos made spectacularly adorable stable animals. With one notable preschooler reprising her role as the star. All in all it was a wonderful morning topped off with treats provided by the Bowman family. Thanks to all who were able to come out and enjoy the show; the kids worked incredibly hard.

We had our first Christmas Program rehearsal today, November 20th, and it was awesome! I couldn't believe how many of the kids made it to the rehearsal in the midst of this crummy, CRUMMY weather! After having gone through the play with all the kids I'm even more excited now. All the kids did a great job of doing everything I asked of them - from talking loudly and adding emotion to their lines to singing out loud and clear. Like I said - it - was - awesome!!!
Next Practices: Our next practice will be on Wednesday, December 1st from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Dress Rehearsal will be on Saturday, December 11th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. *We will feed you lunch! I can't wait! You guys were so outstanding today! Thank you parents for getting the kids there in this horribly crummy and cold weather. If you weren't able to make it to practice today, but would like to start working on the songs with your children (and there are a lot of them), click here for the songs and lyrics. Thanks everybody! Hope to see you in Sunday School tomorrow. Drive safe! Much love and blessings on your week, Becca November 7, 2010
Dear Parents, With the Fall Carnival successfully behind us, it’s time to turn our sights towards the Christmas Program. As I studied my calendar tonight I see that the church will be extremely busy on Saturdays from now until the Christmas program, which will be on Sunday, December 12, 2010. Counting today we are only five Sundays away from show-time, therefore we might have to consider some weekday practices. Here’s what we’re up against, schedule-wise:
Practice Schedule (You’ll be notified if there are changes to the schedule):
From now until the program, please be sure to check in regularly here for any updates or reminders regarding the program. Other Sunday School news:
